Suddenly, it occurred to me that I might not actually be me: I might be a clone, a substitution made by the Raelians for their own nefarious purposes. I turned to my companion and said, 'Quick, man! Ask me a question that only I would know the answer to?'
He appeared surprised, but after a moment he responded, 'What's a question that only you would know the answer to?'
Impatiantly, I said, 'That's what I want know!'
'Well, that's my answer!' he said.'
'But I can't answer that!' I responded, livid.
We paused, then, and silently considered the implications of this exchange. Finally, I said, 'Well, I'm afraid there's no two ways about it, old friend. It must be that you are actually me, and I, unfortunately, must be an imposter. I must insist you call the police at once! I will not allow my good name to be soiled by the actions of' -- and here I looked upon my facsimile body with disgust -- 'some shabby counterfeit, and I am sure that you will not either.'
So, long story short, that's why I'm in lockup. What's your excuse?
