So how is "jwgh" pronounced, anyway?
People who know me primarily from newsgroups or other online media
tend to ask me this eventually. The short answer is: Any way you
want.
That's not very satisfactory, though, so here is an official list of
approved pronunciations.
- It's pronounced phonetically. This was the answer
I favored when I was a smart-aleck college student.
- yoof. This was favored by a group of my friends in
college.

- joof. A less popular variant of "yoof".
- yǝff -- likewise a variant on "yoof".
- joo-GAH.
- jah-GAH. These are more recent pronunciations, but
none the worse for that.
- A correspondent suggests that it is pronounced "".
That's j as in Meijer, w as in wreck, g as in gnaw, and h as in
rhythm.
- Some Kibologists have asked if "jwgh" is pronounced
Jehovah or similar. The answer: Sure, if you want,
though I would prefer not to be called this in, say, a church.
- Jawooghu.
- Jerwuggy. These two are self-explanitory, I think.
- Jay Doubleyou Gee Aitch. The literalist
approach.
- A correspondent writes:
i was mentally calling your name something like ジュワー.
something like the sound of sparkling soda or beer when they were poured into the glass.
I think that this might be transliterated as something like juwaa.
That's all I have so far. If anyone has any other suggestions on how
"jwgh" should be pronounced, feel free to let me know.
