Why? (ST102315)

I was wandering around room 165 assimilating Macs (as is my wont) this afternoon, when I noticed a young gentleman sit down at a computer in the row in front of me and try to drag the hard drive icon into the trash. The little window that pops up to tell you that you can't unmount the disk with the active system software popped up, but this failed to faze him. He clicked "OK" and tried again. Same result. He tried this a couple more times, and finally missed the trash can and so dropped the hard drive icon behind the trash can icon. This seemed to satisfy him, and so he started to look at the different menu items.

At this point, I snapped out of inaction, went up to him, and asked him what he was trying to do. "Browse the World Wide Web" was his answer. I did ask him why he thought dragging the hard drive into the trash would accomplish this, but I don't recall his answer (it may have just been a blank stare). I showed him how to get to Netscape and left.
