Wow! I am so flattered. I still remember the last poem fondly. Any topic or form would be wonderful, I'm sure.
You may regret this. Here goes:

The standard way to render tables sucks,
Resulting in a dominance of space.
To make your page look like a million bucks
's a task that piques the temper and frustrates.

Solutions you may find that seem to work,
But often this success is naught but lies.
The gremlins that inside your code do lurk
Reveal themselves when viewed at different size.

The struggle that this causes makes us wail.
We'd like to mark up using styles, see:
But standard tables almost always fail
To please the eye in Netscape or IE.

We all may wish that we'd had better luck
But standard table algorithms suck.
