This isn't bad for a first attempt, but you need to mix things up a little. Try:


Literature and Baseball: A Cookbook

             poetry

   has rhyme
    and meter -
                   how
          that is        it differs
                            from
   prose
            that       has

                 neither.

                   b
Oh           my b b bad, it
                 b        |
                          v
                         has
    redefined <--------- been
           |
           v
        * like the sports rules
        * like other things

(I left out the initial smiley, as emoticons have NO PLACE in serious poetry, no matter WHAT size their noses are.)
