One of the newsgroups I read, talk.bizarre, has a tradition of occasional get-togethers known as "talk.bizarre outrageous blowouts" or t.bobs for short. Recently a Canadian t.ber, Kate McDonnell, organized one in Quebec City which was called FROST.BOB II (there having previously been a t.bob in Quebec called FROST.BOB). I decided to attend, so I drove up on February 2 and stayed for three days (leaving early on the fourth day). Not coincidentally, the Winter Carnival was also going on at the time.
I haven't written much about the trip (suffice it to say that it was very fun) but I did take a bunch of pictures, some of which I've scanned in.
There are a few different categories of pictures you might be interested in looking at. Alternatively you might want to look at them all at once. A warning: the pages display the images inline at full size (there aren't any clickable thumbnails), so if you have a slow Internet connection you may find that they load slowly.
Several of the other people who went to FROST.BOB put up pictures or narratives or both related to the trip. Here are some of them.
As noted, I haven't written anything about FROST.BOB itself yet. I did, however, write some whiny notes about my trip back, during which I encountered a few problems.
A few people wrote up trip reports (or trip-related stuff) but haven't put them up on a website anywhere. Some of them have graciously consented to allow me to make them part of my web site. Here they are.
